Form Factor- Size, Shape
Galaxy S5 has the dimensions 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 and weights 145 grams, where as its competitor has the dimensions of 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm and weights 160 grams. The flagship HTC has a metal unibody with a curved finish where as the Galaxy S5 has a double dotted cover on its back that gives a better grip to the Smart phone. The HTC One M8 is thicker and heavier compared to the Galaxy S5 but the metal body might make the HTC One M8 heavier but still it gives a premium feel.

Display
The new flagship from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 pixels resolution giving out 432 ppi. Whereas the HTC One M8 has a 5 inch display a inch lesser than its competitor with the same 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution found in Galaxy S5 and has 441 ppi pixel density. There is not much of a difference in terms of the display in both the devices

Internal Specifications
The Galaxy S5 will come with a 2.5 GHz quad-core chipset, while the U.S models of the M8 will have a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor to power it. Both the devices are coupled with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM and will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System. The Galaxy has slightly upgraded OS with 4.4.2 KitKat. So even here we could not find much difference between these two devices.

Camera – Rear & Front
The new HTC One M8 has a 4.1 ultrapixel camera and a secondary rear camera that takes depth information of the pictures and on the front there is a good 5 MP camera for video calling also selfies. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 16 MP camera on the rear that is capable of shooting 4K videos and on the other side there is a 2.1 MP front facing camera.

Storage/ Battery
Both the flagship devices come in 16 GB and 32 GB variants and also have micro SD card slot to increase memory up to 128 GB so in terms of memory there is no difference between both the devices. The battery on the Samsung Galaxy S5 is at 2800 mAh that can be removable while on the HTC One M8 it is tad lesser at 2600 mAh and non-removable.

Pricing and Final Verdict
The Pricing of the HTC One M8 is not yet known as it was unveiled couple of days back and the Samsung Galaxy S5 that was unveiled at the MWC 2014 is set for a release on April 11th 2014 and that is priced quite high when compared to the previous flagship devices, as the pricing of that in India is from Rs. 51000.
